CARING FOR ST. CROIX'S CATS AT EVERY STAGE.
Creating a better future for St. Croix's cats — and the people who care for them.
R.E.A.L. Cruzan Cats works across St. Croix to reduce the number of homeless cats humanely, improve the lives of community cats, rescue vulnerable kittens and cats, and help people care for the animals in their neighborhoods.
Our work begins with prevention — and continues wherever we're needed.

TNVR &
SPAY/NEUTER
Preventing the next generation of homeless kittens.
Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) is at the heart of our work. Community cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped for identification, and returned to the places they know as home.
We also help St. Croix residents access spay/neuter services for cats in their care. Every surgery prevents future litters and helps create healthier, more stable cat populations across the island.
COMMUNITY CATS &
FOOD FOR FERALS
Helping cats where they already live.
Many of St. Croix's outdoor cats are part of established colonies cared for by residents, businesses, and community volunteers. RCC helps these caregivers manage colonies humanely through TNVR, food assistance, veterinary care, and practical support.
Through Food for Ferals, we help provide food for approximately 300 community cats each month. Rather than relocating healthy cats unnecessarily, we work with the people already caring for them to create safe, stable, managed colonies.
RESCUE &
EMERGENCY CARE
When a cat needs more than community care, we step in.
Tiny orphaned kittens. Injured cats. Abandoned pets. Cats found sick or unable to survive on their own. RCC provides veterinary treatment and hands-on care for cats and kittens who need intervention.
Some require relatively simple treatment; others need surgery, weeks of recovery, or around-the-clock care. For the smallest kittens, rescue can mean warmth, formula, and bottle feedings every few hours — sometimes beginning with a kitten who weighs barely more than a few ounces.
FOSTER CARE
A safe place to grow, heal, and learn to trust.
RCC doesn't operate a traditional shelter. Our rescued cats and kittens are cared for in foster homes, where they receive the individualized attention they need before adoption.
Fosters may raise orphaned bottle babies, socialize frightened kittens, nurse injured cats through recovery, or simply provide a safe temporary home until the right family comes along.
Our foster network allows us to save lives without warehousing animals — but the number of cats we can rescue depends directly on the number of foster homes available.
FROM ST. CROIX
TO FOREVER HOME.
Finding the right home for every adoptable cat.
Once they're healthy and ready, our rescued cats and kittens are matched with loving adoptive families. RCC can coordinate direct adoptions to families in most mainland U.S. states, with cats traveling safely in the aircraft cabin with a traveler.
We want every adoption to be a lasting one, so we work to find the right match for both the cat and the family.
Every successful adoption does more than change one cat's life: it opens a foster space so we can say yes to the next cat who needs us.
We'll replace this travel photo with a post-adoption-at-home image when one is selected.
RESCUE ALONE CAN'T SOLVE CAT OVERPOPULATION. NEITHER CAN TNVR ALONE.
That's why R.E.A.L. Cruzan Cats works at every point in the cycle.
Prevent births. Support community cats. Rescue those in danger. Foster those who need a home. Adopt them into families. Together, these programs create lasting change for St. Croix's cats and the community that cares for them.
