FOR ST. CROIX BUSINESSES & COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES

HUMANE CAT MANAGEMENT.
BETTER FOR YOUR PROPERTY.

R.E.A.L. Cruzan Cats helps St. Croix businesses create healthy, stable community-cat colonies through TNVR, practical colony management and ongoing support.

A LASTING SOLUTION

THE GOAL ISN'T TO REMOVE THE CATS.
IT'S TO STOP THE CYCLE.

Simply removing cats rarely solves the underlying problem. If food, shelter and territory remain, new cats can move into the newly available space and breeding begins again.

TNVR addresses reproduction at the source. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped for identification and returned to familiar territory. With responsible feeding and continued monitoring, colonies can become healthier, smaller and more stable over time.

GOOD ANIMAL WELFARE IS GOOD HOSPITALITY

YOUR GUESTS NOTICE THE CATS.

At hotels, resorts, restaurants and other visitor-facing properties, community cats are part of the environment guests encounter. Visitors notice when animals look sick, injured, hungry or uncared for—and concerned guests are often the people who first contact RCC.

A healthy, sterilized, well-managed colony creates a very different impression. Cats are monitored, new arrivals are addressed quickly, and mating-related behaviors such as fighting, yowling and spraying can be reduced.

For St. Croix's tourism businesses, humane colony management isn't only good animal welfare. It's good hospitality.

HOW IT WORKS

FROM CAT PROBLEM TO MANAGED COLONY.

01

ASSESS

We learn about the property, approximate colony size, feeding patterns, access and any special concerns before trapping begins.

02

TNVR

Our team coordinates humane trapping, transport, sterilization, vaccination, ear-tipping and recovery.

03

RETURN

Cats return to the territory they know, helping maintain a stable population rather than creating open territory for newcomers.

04

CARE

A designated caregiver provides appropriate food and water and becomes familiar with the cats who live on the property.

05

MONITOR

New cats, illness and injuries are identified quickly so problems can be addressed before reproduction starts again.

HUMANE MANAGEMENT IN ACTION

SUCCESS IS A STABLE COLONY.

205+documented TNVRs at St. Croix business and commercial locations since 2024

Our historical records did not always identify whether a TNVR location was a business or commercial property, so 205+ is a documented minimum rather than a complete historical total.

LONG-TERM COLONY MANAGEMENT

THE BUCCANEER

RCC has worked with this colony since our early years. A dedicated longtime caregiver continues to monitor and care for the cats, and relatively few new cats now require TNVR.

CONCENTRATED TNVR → ONGOING MONITORING

GRAPETREE BAY RESORT

After concentrated trapping and TNVR, the property has continued working with RCC. Relatively few new cats have needed intervention following the larger trapping effort.

ACTIVE COLONY MANAGEMENT

BCVS DOSPIVA / GALLOWS BAY

Ongoing trapping demonstrates the active-management stage: sterilize the existing population, identify newcomers and keep working toward a stable colony.

BEYOND SPAY & NEUTER

TNVR IS THE FOUNDATION.
ONGOING CARE MAINTAINS IT.

Over the years, RCC has also rescued vulnerable kittens and helped sick or injured cats from commercial properties. Those cases can involve veterinary treatment, transportation, foster care and other costs beyond routine TNVR.

Under the new Business Services model, RCC can help coordinate appropriate care while encouraging the property to participate in the cost of caring for cats living there. Medical expenses beyond routine TNVR are handled separately.

STRAIGHTFORWARD PRICING

THE BIGGER PICTURE

EVERY PROPERTY MATTERS.

Commercial properties can contain some of the island's largest community-cat colonies. When businesses sterilize and responsibly manage those cats, they become part of the island-wide solution.
